Assistant Managers under the supervision of the General Manager are responsible for the operation of the business and rental offices. Assisting in the supervising and the directing of personnel in the business and rental offices in the procedures, reports, records and work schedules established by the Company.
Preparing or overseeing the preparation of all the following:
- The Assistant Manager is responsible for rent collections, posting rent payments, and managing delinquency.
- Processing move-outs
- Resident move-in/lease file package after application is approved by General Manager
- Leasing, processing applications.
- Rental Vacancy and activity reports
- Checking daily the condition of the model apartments, available âshowâ apartments and the rental office.
- Collection, deposit and recording of income including all aspects of delinquent rent
- Being able to work weekends when requested.
- Supervising the work of janitors assigned to the business office, rental office and model apartments.
- Assuming the responsibilities of the General Manager when directed to do so by District Manager, walking the property each day to inspect for cleanliness, completing maintenance work and rent ready apartments.
- Maintaining an inventory of all supplies, forms and equipment used by the business office and leasing office.
- Enforcing company policies and procedures affecting the business office and leasing office.
- Making or overseeing follow-up calls to residents for lease renewals.
- Performing such duties and assuming other responsibilities as may be assigned.
The Assistant Manager Must Possess the Following Qualifications:
- Must be familiar with business office management procedures to include Excel and Word documents.
- Must have prior experience in leasing or property management
- Must have bookkeeping, record keeping and filing experience.
- Must be knowledgeable in the responsibilities and duties of an Assistant Manager or Bookkeeper.
- Must possess a valid driverâs license.
