Prudential Financial is seeking a Vice President of Strategy for the Strategic Initiatives group. Strategic Initiatives is part of Prudential’s U.S. Business (USB), and is a highly-visible team that includes three main areas of responsibility: developing overall U.S. Business strategy, leading Prudential’s Thought Leadership initiative including content development and distribution, and providing the U.S. Management Council (USMC) and other senior executives with communications and other support. In this new role, you will focus on US Business strategy development and identifying organic and inorganic growth opportunities. The role is based in Newark, NJ.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive USB strategy development and coordination of priorities
  • Partner with strategists across USB, including Workplace Solutions, Individual Solutions, PGIM, Customer Office, and Enabling Solutions to identify key strategic initiatives, required resources, and interdependencies
  • Support the USMC with strategic thinking, data analysis and frameworks for ongoing management of key business decisions
  • Lead cross-functional teams on specific projects that address open strategic questions – for example, identifying innovative growth opportunities with new solutions and distribution channels to address unmet consumer needs
  • Work with U.S. Finance and Corporate Development with respect to business cases and investments required for organic and inorganic growth opportunities
  • Serve as an integral member of USB strategy team and support additional team responsibilities with respect to macro trends research, competitive intelligence, and USB portfolio strategy

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience with strategy, including corporate strategy or management consulting roles, with experience in financial services being a plus
  • Exceptional analytic, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven strength to form trusting relationships with senior executives, collaborate with various stakeholders, and create positive working relationships with teams
  • Successful track record of leading projects and teams, with a demonstrated ability to flex between strategy and tactics
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change, and operate in a fast-paced, changing, and forward-looking environment
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Openness to innovative approaches and experimentation to drive greater velocity and changes within established organizational cultures
  • Strong education credentials, including an undergraduate degree, with an M.B.A. or other advanced degree being a plus
