Position Summary:
Incumbent manages 4-6 of the companyâs largest accounts in coordination with additional account managers; intense focus on program results and highly leveraged, value-adding initiatives. Travels for client needs for high-gain meetings (goal setting, stewardship/improvement recommendations, renewals, etc.).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Proactively identifies opportunities for client program improvement and can manage nearly all service issues with minimal executive involvement. Able to help influence and shape client goals in context of their corporate goals and recent program performance.
- Develops robust service plan and aligns resources to deliver on those plans.
- Measures progress against plan goals consistently throughout year and changes course as necessary.
- Able to mobilize and motivate any company resources necessary to reach client goals.
- Structures and uses data to tell a compelling story and drive clients to decisions/action.
- Presents data confidently and anticipates questions from clients.
- Able to engage with the most sophisticated clients and brokers.
- Fully understands product/service offerings and identifies appropriate opportunities to introduce them to clients.
- Suggests the right solutions to help the client be successful.
- Able to play a meaningful role in client expansion and/or new business sales opportunities.
- Develops custom solutions for clients based on their program goals, risk management philosophy and sophistication.
- Can quickly marshal resources needed to drive solution from concept to operational program.
- Able to retain even the most challenging accounts with eye on account profitability.
- Ensures program results meet customer expectations and seeks ways to improve performance.
- Leads most critical group meetings with senior audiences.
- Sets and communicates roles for all company participants prior to critical meetings.
- Ensures appropriate pre-brief and de-brief communication to drive successful client interactions.
- Able to lead meetings with senior risk personnel and executives from client organizations.
- Operates with minimal supervision, engaging senior management (across departments) only on the most complex or sensitive issues.
- Provides brief and succinct updates to direct supervisor.
- Identifies where team members can best add value and provides sufficient guidance to allow them to succeed in desired role.
- Manages group of dedicated/semi-dedicated account managers and related resources.
- Provides frequent, direct coaching and feedback to help Account Manager professional growth.
- Keeps team members motivated, even during difficult project periods.
- Ensures execution on an aggressive, but reasonable, schedule.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years related experience.
- Insurance license.

- Knowledgeable of client’s industry, history, main competitors, 10K filing, challenges in client’s industry and key players within clientâs senior management team.
- Viewed as an uncompromising client advocate across all departments. Identifies opportunities to bring together industry participants for value-added discussions and develops points-of-view documents for benefit of overall organization.
- In-depth understanding of risk, insurance and claim industry information and trends.
