Job Title: Tasting Room Manager
Reports to: Director of Hospitality and DTC
Exempt Full-time Salaried Position
Job Summary: This Position is responsible for implementing the highest levels of imagination, service and professionalism regarding the management of the operations and the staff for the tasting room. The Tasting Room Manager will elevate the Company’s reputation as a revolutionary force in the world of wine, through an exceptional tasting room experience for all of our guests.
Rabble Wine Company is comprised of four powerful labels: Rabble, Tooth & Nail, Stasis and Amor Fati. Our trailblazing label designs have been often imitated but never duplicated. Essential Responsibilities and Functions:
- Manage the daily operation of the tasting room to create a memorable experience for the customer
- Supervise and manage tasting room personnel
- Ensure tasting room personnel comply with the Company’s meal and rest break policy
- Manage all tasting room related events
- Work with the Director of Hospitality, the Wine Club Manager, the Executive Chef and the Events Sales Coordinators to enhance the tasting room experience
- Help grow the wine club membership, tasting room sales, through an unparalleled and imaginative guest experience
- Implement and maintain a professional and high standard of customer service
- Implement staff training to ensure that the brand experience is seamless and enhances the guest experience
- Build a tasting room team that is excited to provide superior service in all aspects
- Implement appropriate procedures and practices for employees and ensure compliance
- Monitor the effectiveness of systems, policies and procedures and make appropriate recommendations to ensure that all daily operations are efficient
- Responsible for the hiring, training, supervising, evaluating and terminating tasting room staff
- Report the bi-weekly payroll hours and tips to the Director of Hospitality for payroll processing
- Estimate personnel needs and hire/schedule staff accordingly
- Participate in the monthly and annual budgetary process
- Implement the agreed upon strategic plan for the Tasting Room
- Process payments and report the daily sales
- Maintain wine and merchandise inventory
- Implement and monitor an appropriate inventory system to account for all wine and merchandise
- Responsible for increasing sales in line with budget
- Handle or resolve unusual or difficult inquires/situations through direct personal action or refer to the appropriate individual
- Responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable safety, environmental and quality regulatory considerations.
- Additional tasks as assigned by Management
Qualifications & Attributes
- The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of proven hospitality experience as a manager with oversight over multiple departments.
- A can-do attitude is essential. This position is about having a vision, taking ownership and making it happen.
- Must be proficient in accounting, budgeting, cost control, merchandising and labor law. Analytical Excel-based data experience required. Demonstrated attention to detail is critical.
- Leadership skills – Leads by example and takes ownership of failures as well as successes. Earns respect through own personal behavior and by maintaining professional standards in all situations.
- Communication – Must possess excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Speaks comfortably in group settings, effectively leads meetings and maintains composure at all times. Exhibits a professional appearance.

- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Salary: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 /year
