Summary: The System General Manager is responsible for the overall management of one or more cable systems, including operations, maintenance, and associate satisfaction, in addition to community and government relations. The position ensures optimal customer satisfaction, profitability, and smooth operations of assigned areas. The System General Manager is involved in all aspects of the deployment, growth, and operations of all cable services and products for residential and business customers.

Responsibilities:
Set forth below is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities (or “essential functions”) of this position.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates the management of a cable system or multiple cable systems with a range of 3,000 to 50,000 subscribers.
- Increases and maintains system customer satisfaction by facilitating processes to exceed standards in plant health, customer service, and technical operations.
- Maintains excellent plant health and ensures timely execution of node splits/extensions, upgrades, and capital projects.
- Consistently and efficiently communicates and promotes company objectives to all associates, including the Cable ONE Strategies for Success.
- Analyzes, plans, executes, and revises system activities and marketing in order to maximize subscriber and cash flow growth while minimizing capital and operating expenses.
- Ensures high levels of associate satisfaction with periodic feedback sessions and actively engaging in associate relations, training, development, and accountability.
- Maintains full awareness of the competitive footprint, including initiatives and offers; Analyzes and reports on data, recommending competitive response to any potential and existing competitors.
- Maintains favorable relations with local franchise authorities, as well as State and Federal officials as necessary.
- Represents system and takes a leadership role in community affairs, including participation in civic organizations and community events.
- Prepares annual operating and capital budgets for system.
- Communicates and maintains the flow of information between the Corporate Office and front line associates.
- Communicates and shares key performance trends; develops action plans to address opportunities for improvement and operating efficiencies, along with actively participating in the implementation of these initiatives.
- Promotes and ensures that safety training and policies are being followed according to Cable ONE directives.
- Completes special projects as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly responsible for managing two or more supervisory associates, in addition to directly or indirectly managing thirty to forty non-supervisory associates. Carries out all management responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, monitoring, coaching, along with planning, assigning, and directing work. Responsible for performance evaluation, recognition, disciplinary action, and termination.

- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and a minimum of two years progressive cable system experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience in a managerial role for a cable system or large department preferred.
- 10% to 20% overnight travel required.
- High moral and ethical character.
- Demonstrated record of setting challenging goals, working hard, and leading and motivating associates to do their best.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and handle multiple projects and tasks effectively.
- Proficiency with software applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Knowledge of marketing and competitive strategies.
- Requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
