The Senior Project Manager manages and oversees all aspects of the development and implementation of large, highly complex, multi-platform technology initiatives. The Senior Project Manager (1)takes projects from original concept through final implementation by defining project scope and objectives, analyzing project requirements and determining best approach to complete project using existing and/or new approaches, developing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports, managing the project budget, and developing plans for transition to operations, (2) facilitates cross functional teams within OIT, customer organizations and vendors, (3) manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables, and (4) collaborates, negotiates and works with others in a matrixed organization.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
A. Duty: Day-to-Day Project Management
60% of time
Required tasks to fulfill primary responsibility:
- Provides project management and direction to ensure overall success of large, complex initiatives by developing project implementation plans including project business benefit, scope, objectives, schedule, deliverables, and success criteria that support business goals in collaboration with management and project sponsors.
- Develops an appropriate implementation plan that focuses on current and future functional performance objectives, Total cost ownership and compliance with Enterprise standards.
- Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential risks, and devises contingency plans
- Determines content of status reports from the project team, troubleshoots problem areas and delivers overall progress reports to senior management.
- Conducts project post-mortem assessments and suggests improvements in process or procedure.
- Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential risks, and devises contingency plans.
- Uses strong analytical skills including the ability to abstract key trends and issues from complex detail information; resolves problems with ability to look at issues from multiple angles and able to address solutions at both conceptual and detail level.

- Determines work plans, priorities, and schedules for large, complex projects.
- Determines best approach to negotiate with contractors around scope or contract issues.
- Decides when to escalate critical issues to senior management.
- Develops a response plan and procedures for an identified risk.
B. Duty: Provides Budget and Resource Management
20% of time
Required tasks to fulfill primary responsibility:
- Drafts and submits budget proposals and recommends subsequent budget changes.
- Identifies resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Determines and assesses requests for additional staff and/or contractors and works with outside service providers where needed to complete technology projects.
- Negotiates with department managers, when necessary, regarding the support of required personnel to ensure project continuity through completion.

- Determines the staff requirements for each project and coordinates the necessary training needed for the staff to perform in the appropriate role.
C. Duty: Provide Strategic Project Management
10% of time
Required tasks to fulfill primary responsibility:
- Proactively manages full life-cycle of technology initiatives, including overall project plan, scope, change control, risks, issues, impacts, and reporting through standardization and best practice project implementation.
- Manages issues and proactively escalate critical issues for immediate resolution.
- Promotes the use and adoption of standard Project Lifecycle Methodology (PLM) and supports functional and project managers by providing guidance in the usage of PLM.
D. Duty: Communication and Collaboration
10% of time
Required tasks to fulfill primary responsibility:
- Coordinates project related activities for cross functional team(s).
- Collaborates to develop, and appropriately execute, a change strategy, including stakeholder analysis, communication plans, and adoption plans.
- Coaches, mentors, and motivates project team members and contractors and influences them to take positive action and accountability for assigned work.
- Manages relationships across OIT, customers and vendors to develop a thorough understanding of core business functions and align project with overall business objectives.
- Manages issues and proactively escalate critical issues for immediate resolution effectively demonstrating decision making, issues management and resolution skills.
Job Types: Temporary, Contract
Salary: $50.00 to $60.00 /hour
