We’re seeking an experienced Senior General Manager to join our team at a new center being launched in Ashburn, VA. As our new Senior General Manager you will:
- Hire, supervise, mentor and evaluate department managers (Fitness and Performance, Membership Sales, Reception and Customer Service, Member Services and Retention).
- Foster and manage quality relationships with client, community, and site members.
- Drive, track and report on key metrics daily. Develop plan to ensure business success.
- Complete P/L influence and control. Assume fiscal responsibility for center operations.
- Have an entrepreneurial mindset around the launch and operations of the business. Always be innovating.
- Understand and utilize EXOS methodology, services and platforms to enhance the member experience and outcomes.
- Be essentially accountable for the member experience, engagement, acquisition, and retention.
- Perform duties as marketing manager for all fitness, programs, and membership recruitment/retention programs and strategies.
- Ensure excellent customer service and customer responsiveness to both inside and outside constituents.
- Interact with client management on a weekly basis to enhance communications and build a positive client/vendor relationship.
- Develop department budgets and strategic business plan, and monitor for progress monthly as a part of client monthly operations updates as measured against annual goals for all departments.
- Eventually oversee additional locations.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of proven General Manager Experience within the fitness industry, including overseeing Membership, with proven successful outcomes.
- Must have successfully led multiple launches and presale of centers.
- Bachelorâs Degree in fitness, hospitality-related fields or business-related fields.
- Current CPR/AED certification or willing to obtain upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in increasing programming participation in fitness centers.
- Marketing experience a plus.
- Scheduling flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support programming.
- Successful track record managing sales, personal/small group training, operations, group programming and customer service.
- Multi-site management experience a plus.
- Excellent communication: both written and verbal, leadership, interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Ability to anticipate, manage, and solve operational issues on a regular basis.
- Highly skilled in Google Docs, Excel, as well as proven ability to work with different CRM systems (i.e., Club Automation).
