NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Scrum Master to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky (US-KY), United States (US).
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Builds the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
- Guides the team on how to get the most out of self-organization.
- Guides the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Assesses the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization; coaches the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
- Removes impediments or guides the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
- Builds a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame
- Facilitates getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
- Facilitates discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
- Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
- Supports and educates the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Scrum Master for distributed software development teams that have applied Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
- Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach, i.e. numerous burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.
Nice to haves:
- Experience with other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
- Experience with User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Travel: No travel; candidates must be on-site in Louisville, KY
Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
