The Security Project Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, organizing and directing, application engineering, field installation and start-up of assigned projects. Ensures projects are effectively executed within budgeted cost and time schedules and ensure positive cash flow. In addition, position is key interface with the customer and responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance on all assigned projects. Highest level of Project Manager has direct reports, high volume and/or critical accounts and customers.

Principal Duties

  • Manages, oversees and coordinates all aspects for all types of projects, including the largest and most complex projects, from award through completion of projects including: overall site management of project(s) for successful and timely completion within budget as required by the contract.
  • Manages the execution and review of all scope of work and terms and conditions in customer contracts
  • Reviews and approves estimated costs prior to bid; provision of technical assistance to sales force as and when required; supervision of project design engineering; supervision of installation labor and subcontractors; preparation of project schedules, subcontracts, change proposals, project invoices; manages collections on projects.
  • Proactively communicates project requirements to project team and wider organization as and when required, and maintains accurate and up to date records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records necessary for processing of internal and external reports
  • Evaluates current systems for cost reduction and product improvement.
  • Identifies potential project risks and develops/implements strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines
  • Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies, services
  • May have direct reports and perform managerial responsibilities such as mentoring, coaching, performance appraisals and salary reviews
  • Attend industry conferences to expand DAC, Inc. brand in the Texas market.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years of previous, relevant engineering, field service or project management experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: electronic, fire alarm & life safety
  • Minimum of five years of project supervisory experience required
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification preferred; industry-specific certifications and/or licenses required; must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to a wide audience, including contractors, architects, and engineers with varying degrees of technical knowledge
  • Ability to manage scheduling and data review for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to build successful partnerships and collaborative teams both internally and with other organizations
  • Previous experience with winning teamwork, leadership and highly collaborative environments
  • Strong background with using software and tablet devices to maximize site observations and efficiency of tasks
  • Ability to travel as required for projects being executed nation-wide. Anticipated travel annually is not expected to exceed 30%
