Experienced Plant Manager from Chemical or Adhesives Industry


Description:

The Plant Manager reports to the Operations Manager. The incumbent is responsible for serving the customer by creating and maintaining a clean, safe, highly productive plant, while making the most efficient and cost conscious use of the equipment, materials, and employees to produce high quality products on first pass production runs.

The Plant Manager will work with the management team to make H. B. Fuller a great place to work, where employees are engaged and have the opportunity for career growth. The Plant Manager is responsible for developing and gaining support for both the operating and capital budgets. S/he will drive continuous improvement efforts and achievement of plant goals and objectives. As the senior management representative at the location, the Plant Manager is expected to be the voice of the company and effectively communicate the company’s positions and decisions on a timely basis.

The position has direct and indirect reports.

60% – Functional Control

10% – Human Resources

15% -Continuous Improvement

15% -Safety and Regulatory


Required Skills:

  • BA/ BS degree in chemical engineering with 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing capacity with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • 5 + years of experience in OSHA 1910.119 PSM regulations
  • 5 + years of experience in capital expenditure management
  • 5 + years of experience with “Lean Six Sigma” tools and methods.
  • 3 + years of experience in a batch manufacturing plant.
  • 5% travel
  • Prior experience required in (1) demonstrated success in leading a facility and (2) demonstrated ability to successfully manage large capex projects on time and within budget.

Employees are eligible for full benefits, including medical, dental, insurance, 401k contribution, paid time off and paid Holidays. This position may also qualify for medical reimbursement depending on the employee’s annual base salary. If qualified, H.B. Fuller will pay up to 100% of the employee’s medical premium. All employees qualify for an annual cash bonus, based on business performance. Annual raises are based on company and individual performance.
