We presently have an opportunity for a Manager, Business Development Strategy & Operations position in our Corporate Partnerships Department. This position will work with sellers throughout the sales process and manage the sales strategy, develop presentation/proposals, manage internal communications and help close deals in the Business Development Department. This position will manage several projects simultaneously, while supporting multiple sellers and will also have direct sales responsibilities within the department.


Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required.
  • Minimum of five to seven years’ experience in marketing, advertising, sales, or business development, preferably in sports marketing or golf related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.
  • Sales / prospecting experience to generate new business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of various sponsorship relationships that generate revenue, build the PGA TOUR brand, provide player benefits, and enhance the fan experience, including: official marketing partnerships, title sponsorships, and other new corporate relationships.
  • Support sellers throughout entirety of sales process (defined below).
  • Help develop value proposition for open sales inventory (e.g., available Title Sponsorships, OMP categories, etc.) as well as financial modeling of prospective deals to aid negotiations.
  • Create customized and impactful presentations; write and/or assist in writing persuasive proposals. Attend client meetings when appropriate.
  • Navigate PGA TOUR partnerships landscape, understanding TOUR assets / value proposition, and build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders.
  • Direct sales responsibilities across select properties/categories (e.g., Korn Ferry Tour Titles, PGA TOUR Active platform, select OMP categories, etc.)
  • Deal Process – Implement Strategy & Operations deal process to help expedite overall deal timeline (initial meeting to contract signature):
    • Prospecting
      • Work with Product Innovation and Strategy team to support overall lead generation and prospecting process.
    • Presentation Development
      • Develop customized presentations for sellers based on company objectives, strategic goals, etc.
      • Participate on calls and in meetings with seller when appropriate.
    • Proposals
      • Develop and draft customized proposals for prospective partners.
      • Responsible for communications with key internal stakeholders throughout sales process (e.g., finance, legal, corporate partnerships, TBA, Champ Management).
      • Responsible for any follow-up documents needed during negotiation.
    • Contract Stage
      • Once verbal agreement is reached responsible for filling out Deal Summary and routing to key internal stakeholders.
      • Work with legal team to develop initial draft of contract, routed for internal review.
      • Seller maintains lead on negotiations with S/O team involved through signature.
      • Assist in transition to Account Management Team.
    • Deal Close
      • Internal correspondence with key stakeholders regarding deal closer and announcement plans.
    • Special projects or other duties as assigned.
