Overview

This position is responsible for the day-to-day and hands-on management of Wool Factory Events and the Selvedge Brewing Taproom. The Wool Factory can seat up to 360 guests in the Main Hall, and will host a variety of events including weddings, fundraisers, and corporate off-sites. When there is not an event taking place, the Selvedge Taproom will be open for service with a unique menu from that of Broadcloth restaurant. You will report to the Director of Operations and Sales and will be expected to work closely with the Executive Chef, as well as the General Manager of Broadcloth restaurant and The Workshop to ensure smooth operations throughout The Wool Factory.

Job Duties

  • Oversee all Wool Factory events:
  • Pre event: Coordinate with the Executive Chef to confirm details of the menu and service; ensure the cleanliness of the venue prior to a function; ensure venue is ready before guests arrive (dining tables, bar, food, and beverages); run pre-event meeting to communicate event details to the event staff; assign specific tasks to event staff; print menus, labels, & way-finding signage as needed.
  • During the event: Interact with the host to respond to any special requests or last-minute adjustments;lead food and beverage service; ensure that safety and sanitation codes are followed; monitor the activities of the staff and guests and respond to questions, complaints, or comments that may arise; train staff to recognize improper guest behavior.
  • Post event: Ensure the host had a positive experience; oversee clean up and closing of the property; confirm all billing is accurate; note any changes made during the event; complete post event report to share with management.
  • Oversee Selvedge Taproom service:
  • Work with lead brewer to ensure beer is stocked and inventory is up to date
  • Update and print menus as needed by the Executive Chef
  • Ensure service and operations standards are met
  • Hire (with the support of The Director of Operations & Sales) and schedule bartenders, servers, server assistants for Events andSelvedge Taproom.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of upcoming events and in-house programming; attend weekly BEO meetings
  • Maintain all Events and Selvedge Taproom serviceware inventory
  • Staff management: Regularly check in with your team to ensure progress and job satisfaction
  • Maintain patron satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings; initiating improvements; building relationships with patrons.

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience as Banquet/Events Manager (or similar role) at high volume property
  • Experience in Point of Sale software
  • Ability to stand on your feet for several hours
  • Expected to work weekends as part of regular shifts
  • ServeSafe certified

Compensation

$50,000 – $60,000 annually
