Summary: The Rural Health Clinic Director is the administrative and clinic authority regarding the day-to-day operations of the clinic. It is responsible for the fiscal management, staffing-to-volume, compliance, strategic planning and operations.

Responsibilities

The Director is responsible for standardizing the overall patient experience by enhancing the point of entry for all patients seeking services and ensuring organizational success in the regulatory, compliance and quality standards.

Essential Functions

1. Maintaining the conditions for certification of an RHC as mandated by 42 CFR ยง491 and other CMS publications and guidelines

2. Creating and maintaining written policies and procedures as required by federal regulation

3. Oversee the daily clinic operations and be responsible for necessary administrative and financial record-keeping and reporting to the hospital

4. Developing and executing the Clinic budget

5. Maintaining regulatory compliance, including all state, federal and local regulations

6. Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices

7. Establish positive working relationship with the providers within the RHC

8. Coordinates planning and scheduling of visiting provider specialists.

9. Ensuring staff members adhere to the organizational mission, vision and values

10. Oversees and supervises all staff activity and decision making

11. Works collaboratively with leadership to assure the organization meets its performance goals and objectives

12. Creating a positive culture which enables staff to provide a consistently exceptional patient experience

Education and Experience Requirements

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Healthcare Management, or related discipline preferred.

2. Five years of recent clinic management or equivalent experience required.

3. Demonstrated knowledge of Rural Health Clinic guidelines strongly desired.

4. Knowledge and understanding of current healthcare policies as required by State, Federal agencies and insurance carriers regarding rural health status.

5. Computer literacy in Windows environment, spreadsheets, word processing, and applicable Quality Indicator statistical and data analysis programs.

6. Knowledge and understanding of business management, healthcare, personnel requirements, finance, and reimbursement.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all staff in the Rural Health Clinic. It is responsible for the performance management and hiring of employees of the clinic.
