Job Description:
Responsible for strategic and advanced procurement activities across all direct and indirect commodities, while ensuring compliance with overall objectives and strategies of the company.

Lead general supplier relations, e.g. returns and claims, approval of potential suppliers, financial improvement processes, etc.

Drive product line simplification and supplier rationalization in working with the product category managers and buying team,

Define and deliver on organizational cost reduction targets using a cross functional approach and develop an increased international supply base.

Manage a supplier scorecard process, leading the effort to improve upon supplier performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

.Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.Lead periodic supplier meetings and conduct business reviews.

Interfaces with Merchandising, Marketing and Finance staff to establish promotional buy plans, develop open-to-buy strategies, and establish and monitor inventory guidelines.

Monitors and manages inventory buying and scheduling cycles and processes to insure effective inventory management.

Manages departmental monitoring of past due orders, pre-expediting of future purchase orders, posting of supplier delivery data, and processing of vendor returns.

Oversees and manages the RTV, liquidation and disposition of excess inventory, insuring minimum markdowns and maximizing recovery value. Provides regular reporting of excess and obsolete inventory valuation and disposition results to Finance.

Oversees the management and tracking of supplier agreements to insure all necessary targets and purchase levels are achieved to maximize rebate, coop allowances, and pricing discounts.

Monitors and manages the item master, vendor master and campaign master databases and maintenance process. Monitors and manages standard costs, pricing and acquisition costs for all merchandise and promotions.

Monitors drop ship order processing, special order processing and employee accommodations.

Job Requirements:
Education: Requires a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and at 8-10 years of experience in the purchasing field or in a related area. MBA preferred.

CPM and/or CPIM certification is strongly preferred

Experiences in a variety of procurement concepts, practices, and procedures within an international setting.

Ability to effectively communicate throughout the organization, and external.

A champion in change management and ability to effectively resolve matters.

Willingness to travel as required, up to 30%.

Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), organizational skills, time management skills and problem solving ability.

Must be self-motivated, show good planning techniques and have a strong understanding of merchandising and promotional concepts.

A strong background in business with an understanding of mathematical principles, economic fundamentals and business writing is required.

Ability to represent the company effectively and professionally in dealings with suppliers is essential.

Proficiency in the use of computerized purchasing and inventory management systems, as well as PC-based spreadsheet analysis, statistics and data base applications is required.

Constant mental, visual and auditory attention; the flow of work requires focused, detailed attention while using a computer.
