Director, Data Governance

Position Summary…

What you’ll do…

We are transforming the way we work to become the world’s leading data-driven retailer and are seeking an experienced Data Governance Director to lead data governance and data quality management teams and strategies.

The Data Governance Director will be tasked with building a MDM team, creating data policies and procedures that ensure the availability of high quality data for users, and ensure successful adoption and implementation of these procedures. This role will partner with key stakeholders across the business including data stewards and business data owners in functional domains, technology teams and other enterprise functions.

You will influence enterprise standards on data governance process and policy as well as data quality metrics, business rules, and service levels to ensure that data is fit for purpose. The role will also elevate awareness and educate business owners on enterprise data quality initiatives including: data governance, data policy, master data and metadata management, and data quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Data Architecture, or related field and 8+ years’ experience in data stewardship, data management, database administration, data analytics, or related field.
• Prefer Master’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Data Architecture, or related field.
• Superior relationship building and communication skills, and experience driving results across teams in different functions, including communicating recommendations to senior leaders.
• Experience working in a global environment with numerous processes and systems.
• Ability to drive change and navigate ambiguity when building new capabilities in an enterprise setting.
• Intellectual curiosity and ability to connect business needs and processes to data

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, or related field and 5 years’ experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area. 3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office. 4 years’ supervisory experience.
