Position: Director, Corporate Communications

The Director, Corporate Communications role will assist with the implementation of an integrated Corporate Communications strategy to ensure alignment with the company’s mission, goals and objectives throughout the organization, and to protect and enhance corporate reputation among external stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

  • Support in the development and lead the implementation of global corporate reputation strategy, plan, tactics and metrics for both internal and external audiences, including the creation of a media and thought leadership strategy.
  • Develop and implement an integrated corporate message platform, working with Corporate Affairs and across the company, to ensure an aligned, consistent narrative for internal and external audiences.
  • Promote BMS as a great place to work and employer of choice through communications/content highlighting recognition and company culture, in partnership with lead HR Communications.
  • Execute against corporate media strategy and build and maintain relationships with key top-tier media.
  • Support creation and implementation of corporate issues management strategy, process and execution; provide guidance on related reputational issues as needed, to mitigate risk and ensure messaging is aligned.
  • Oversee budget and contract management for corporate reputation management and media relations external agency resources.


Position Requirements:

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated leader with a track record of setting, driving and delivering against integrated corporate reputation and media strategies. S/he will have expertise in strategic planning, issues management, internal communications, corporate communications and media relations, and will be able to collaborate with senior business leaders to develop integrated corporate reputation and thought leadership initiatives at the global level. S/he will have demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence others. Finally, this individual will have a strong grasp of storytelling that can engage and energize both internal and external stakeholders, and support the company’s business objectives.

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Communications or related field preferred. Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
  • Accomplished corporate communications professional with 10-15 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, public relations agency or related field. Experience in internal communications, executive communications and/or scientific communications preferred.
  • Proven experience developing and driving successful corporate reputation and thought leadership initiatives in coordination with business partners in support of enterprise priorities.
