Position Summary
The Capital Expenditure Manager will be responsible for the process for proposal, evaluation, and tracking of capital investments in context of BSAM’s/BATO manufacturing and supply chain strategic plans. Specifically, this role will support the optimization of capital allocation from original proposal, corporate commitment, budgeting & funding and finally tracking through independent evaluation. This role will also serve as center to benchmark internal and external spend ROI. The role spans the BSAM, BATO manufacturing supply chain, requiring the ideal candidate to have a strong operational / finance background.
Responsibilities
- Provides advice and assistance to BSAM/BATO staff regarding preparation of capital project documents for Executive Committee / Board review.
- Engage BSAM management to identify, assess and decision capital investment options (system, equipment, programs, revisions, facilities/infrastructure upgrade, acquisition of capital assets or fixed assets).
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for capital investments inclusive of the creation and communication of a strategic investment roadmap, current/future budget, and documentation necessary for review and validation of capital investment and major operating expense for projects.
- After thorough data gathering, analyzes cost, forecasts economic evaluation, and calculates budget impact of these investment options, then memorializing the decision making process with thorough documentation.
- Oversees or conducts capital cost studies and audits, which may include (pre/post-implementation capital project reviews) to ensure on-time schedule adherence and budgetary compliance. This may include ongoing evaluation of risk with financial impact(s) analysis, return on investment (ROI) projection (and actual), total cost detail/summary, and finally net present value of cash flow.
- Generate ongoing (and historical) database of capital expenditure for potential multi-party review (BSJ, BSAM, Internal Audit, etc.) of proposals, including ROI analyses, net present value cash flow analyses, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses for enterprise & individual capital projects.
- For BATO operation, lead capital budgeting process with specific emphasis on forecasting of capital spending and depreciation (for fixed assets) to ultimately provide budgets for long-term system-wide optimization of capital commitment and expenditure.
- Coordinate and share external benchmarking to BATO/BSAM industry-specific and cross-industry ‘best’ practices for capital expenditures, inclusive of insights from internal / external comparisons.
When required, may be asked to provide advice & recommendations for suspension or termination of a capital project or capital assets to Senior Management.
Qualifications
- Accounting, Finance, business or technical related bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of work experience in Financial Accounting related
- Demonstrated advanced financial acumen requiring trade-offs to optimize ROI
Ability to work effectively and efficiently within tight deadlines
- Experience with SAP a plus
Mix of both Corporate and Field based work experience
