The position is technical leadership within the Global Functions Technology Services Organization. The role will provide opportunities to lead the adoption and build out of best in class technology solutions to solve complex business problems in a large global capital markets organization. Role Description:
- Lead the development of the next generation application platform.
- Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements.
- Guide Product Control technology team in Irving area in the successful delivery of business functionality on the platform
- Using your experience and excellent communication skills, build strong collaborative partnerships across the technology and Product organizations
- Deliver advanced technical projects as an individual contributor and provide technical leadership on projects implemented by the wider team of Software Engineers/Analyst Developers based globally.
- Collaborate effectively with a large global team of software engineers, business analysts, dev-ops and support staff to deliver software solutions for the business.
- Advance the software infrastructure by continuously adopting new technologies where appropriate to solve business problems.
- This role involves working as a part of distributed teams and demands strong writing, communication, time-management skills along with good technical skills.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years hands-on Core Java development
- 6+ years’ experience with Object Oriented Design
- Excellent grasp of Concurrent programming concepts
- Familiarity with Agile software development processes
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a large global team
- Ability to take ownership and proactively follow up on issues
- Ability to work well under pressure

Experience working with most if not all of the technologies listed below.
- Spring
- Spring Integration
- Spring Batch
- Distributed Caching frameworks such as Gemfire, Oracle Coherence or equivalent
- Java concurrency APIs
- SQL
- Familiarity with Linux environment including scripting skills.
Good to have
- Apache Spark
- Experience designing APIs
- Experience working in a Capital Markets firm (Investment Bank/Investment Management) with basic understanding of Derivatives and Risk management
- Experience leading a team of Software Engineers/Analyst Developers.
- Demonstrated capacity to build tooling for development team use.
- Ability to implement industry best practices
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (Computer Science or Information Systems a plus)
