Job Summary: Traditions Healthcare is looking to hire an experienced hands-on Vice President of Technology to build and lead their technology team as the company grows. The incumbent will plan, organize, supervise, and program all activities associated with Traditions information technology, including, but not limited to IT infrastructure, systems, applications and data security, as well as daily operational responsibilities.

In addition, the candidate will work closely with our parent companys technology department on the strategic and the operational level to ensure that both Traditions as well as the parent companys objectives are met. Within this responsibility, the candidate will provide input into the parent companys IT strategy for shared technology platforms and work with the parent companys technology department to develop and execute a corresponding implementation roadmap tailored to Traditions needs. The candidate will also determine technology needs of Traditions not covered by shared technology platforms and ensure the identification, implementation and operations of appropriate solutions.

Job Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of information technology in a Healthcare setting with previous security and/or compliance leadership experience; 5+ years of leadership or management experience preferred; 7+ years leading technology delivery for a complex organization or business unit covering both IT infrastructure and applications

Skills: Must be able to read and write in English and follow instruction. The employee should possess reasonable knowledge in computer systems and be able to communicate well both verbally and written. Must be confident in presentation skills and able to address groups of various sizes as well as train individually in a one-on-one setting.
Transportation: Reliable transportation and valid and current auto insurance.
Travel: Occasionally as needed
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience; A CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or CISSP (Certified Information Security Professional) or CRISC (Certified Risk and Information Systems Control) certification is a plus

Other Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ISO 27001/27002, PCI DSS and HIPAA
  • Hands-on experience in solution identification and vendor/product selection covering all aspects from requirements gathering to RFPs and contract negotiations
  • Experience in managing vendors on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with their contractual obligations
  • Experience should also include exposure to both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as support of in-house information and communication systems in a multi-site, client-server environment
  • Experience with deploying and managing Cloud Solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to make complex technical concepts and jargon understandable to non-technical audiences
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of leading and managing both people and processes

Environmental and Working Conditions:

Works in a variety of settings and office environments, promoting functioning and coordination with all agency activities to insure the highest level of professional care. Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Physical and Mental Effort:

Prolonged standing and walking required, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs, and to make quick decisions. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Essential Functions:

  • As the most senior IT person at Traditions, build relationships with Traditions executives in order to understand their business needs. Translate their needs into technology plans/roadmaps and articulate short- and long-term trade-offs on technology decisions
  • Serve as the senior level IT partner for the parent companys technology leadership to work on and address strategic, tactical and operational matters
  • Collect and define requirements to serve as input in the parent companys IT strategy with respect to shared technology platforms such as for ERP/CRM/Reporting systems
  • Collaborate with the parent companys technology department to turn those broader IT strategies into implementation and operational plans and assist with the execution
  • Determine technology needs of Traditions not covered by shared technology platforms and ensure the identification, implementation and operations of appropriate solutions
  • Monitor IT services provided by the parent companys technology department and escalate issues, concerns, and improvement opportunities to the parent companys leadership
  • Implement modern IT architecture executing on a cloud first strategy
  • Implement and maintain IT security, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities to protect the companys information assets
  • Monitor current and emerging IT trends in order to ensure an ongoing proactive IT strategy. Present recommendations to senior leadership for selection of new technology and components
  • Work with existing technology function to provide input in and support of the implementation of their broader IT strategies
  • Manage financial aspects of the IT including purchasing budgeting and cost tracking
  • Manage technology related vendors used by Traditions, from vendor sourcing, selection, and negotiations to vendor performance tracking
  • Identify and select hardware components, software, programs and support equipment
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology policies, objectives, short- and long-range planning
  • Track value delivered on technology projects post deployment and present findings to senior leadership
  • Ensure HIPAA requirements are met and serve as a Data Privacy Officer
  • Ensure proper functioning, performance and up-time, in addition to support, upgrade and maintenance, of all systems in accordance with SLAs/OLAs covering internally and externally managed applications and IT infrastructure (network, hosting, end user computing)
