GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for executive level leadership and college-wide visioning for planning, analyzing, and evaluating CNM’s business and financial operations and business strategy. Contributes to the development and implementation of the College’s strategic directions and objectives. Ensures operational integrity and growth of the College, its economic development and training entity, and Foundation.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and administering comprehensive policies, programs, and procedures necessary to monitor and maintain the financial stability of the College and its component units in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards.
- Serves as the College’s Chief Financial Officer, reporting to the President and serves on the President’s Executive Team.
- Serves as the Treasurer of CNM Ingenuity, a 501(c)(3) economic development/public partnership organization, and the CNM Foundation, a 501(c)(3) fundraising and alumni organization.
- Attend Governing Board meetings and make presentations; confer with executive leadership team and administrators to recommend agenda items and staff Board Committee meetings, particularly those requiring expertise from the Finance and Operations Division.
- Assists the President in cultivating relationships with local and state government elected officials and state and federal regulatory agency leaders; may represent the College on state or national efforts to promote student success and community success.
- Oversees all business areas of the College, including the Comptroller, General Accounting, Bursar, Procurement, and Payroll.
- Ensures that the College’s Finance and Operational departments and offices align with the College’s strategic direction of organizational excellence and innovation, particularly in the areas of organizational efficiency and effectiveness, quality improvement, support services and employee development.
- Oversees operational areas of the College, including the Budget; Human Resources; Office of Data Strategy, including institutional research; Planning and Accreditation, Business Strategy, including Grants and Proposals; Physical Plant; Risk Management; and newly-created Enterprise Project Management Office.
- Collaborates with Chief Information Officer and others to plan departmental and enterprise project budgets, project scope and scale, particularly the College’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and constituent relationship management (CRM) application.
- Collaborates with the College’s Counsel on issues related to human resources, collective bargaining agreements, health/welfare benefits, risk management, contract and leases; assists with review and revision of College’s policies and procedures when necessary.
- Supervises staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
- Performs other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
- Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in related field.
AND
- Ten (10) years of experience directly related to the qualifications.

- Previous experience in the field of Higher Education.
