Vice President of Brewery Operations

THE OPEN ROAD
Mother Road Brewing Company seeks a Vice President (VP) of Brewing Operations to lead our growing production team in Flagstaff, Arizona. Over the course of six years, we have grown from brewing 650 barrels in 2011 to 9,515 barrels in 2018, are on pace for 14,000 barrels in 2019. Mother Road Brewing Co. plans to achieve 20,000 barrels of taxable beer production in 2020.

The VP of Brewery Operations’ main objectives are to integrate Mother Road’s Strategic and Trimester Operating plans, work with the CEO to help craft future Strategic and Trimester Operating Plans, and to lead the brewing team through Mother Road’s mission and values. The VP of Brewing Operations is also responsible for financial planning, reporting, and adherence to budget through the lens of resourcefulness.

Key Job Responsibilities Include:

• Behaves as a cultural and leadership role model by exemplifying Mother Road’s mission and values
• Communicates a clear vision of the Strategic and Trimester Plan to inspire and guide the brew team
• Coaches and mentors all members of the brew team through formal and informal check-in processes
• Works with the Director of People and Culture to find ways to embolden Mother Road’s mission and values through leadership, policy, traditions, and continuing education
• Assists Director of People and Culture in workforce planning
• Owns the implementation of the Trimester Plan for brewery ops
• Works with the CEO to bring new products to market. Oversees new product development and manages processes
• Weeks abreast industry trends and demonstrates initiative to seek out opportunities for new products, ingredients, brewing techniques, technical developments, processes
• Executes production plans based on Sales Team and Distributor needs
• Ensures Mother Road’s breweries are able to achieve forecasted production levels to balance planned inventory targets of product mix, quality, cost per barrel
• Accountable for Mother Road’s product quality across the entirety of its product mix
• Is an ambassador and representative for Mother Road Brewing Co. in the craft brewing community by supporting professional industry organizations’ events and activities
• Accountable for production financial, operating, and capital budgets through planning, preparing, controlling and monitoring.
