The Information Technology Department has an opening for a Technical Project Manager (Scrum Master) for the Digital Customer Experience organization. This position is located in Pleasanton, California.


Position Purpose
Albertsons Companies’ IT Digital Customer Experience team has a need for a Technical Project Manager (Scrum Master) for the consumer-facing Mobile Apps. This role will be an individual contributor responsible for delivering projects that pertain to the Digital Marketing and eCommerce/Grocery Delivery business functions, particularly focusing on projects to launch new features to the existing or build new consumer-facing mobile apps. The candidate will work closely with the IT Director of Digital Customer Experience, and partner with its peer development team members, other cross-functional IT teams, business stakeholders and leadership team distributed across geographical locations including Pleasanton CA, Phoenix, AZ and Manila, Philippines.


Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Initiates and facilitates project kick-off and inception activities
  • Coaches and mentors other Scrum Masters to encourage consistent, core best practices across the teams
  • Takes responsibility for managing dependencies between the Scrum teams and third parties, release managers, or between the Scrum teams
  • Exhibits desire to continuously learn new tools, techniques, and methodologies from teams and Agile community
  • Understands Continuous integration and deployment and Exhibits ability to run projects in the Scrum and Kanban methodologies, with multiple outside dependencies and remote project team members
  • Effectively communicates with cross functional teams
  • May develop and deliver formal presentations and training programs to end users, project teams, management teams and executive management
  • Interacts seamlessly with both business and project teams
  • Facilitates discussions that lead to the resolution of project issues and development impediments
  • Reports project progress to Program Management and executive level stakeholders
  • Properly manages shared resources across multiple projects
  • Ensures all proper training and user documentation has been implemented
  • Has working knowledge and understanding of Agile Software Development Methodology and incremental delivery
  • Exhibits a desire to continuously improve, and shows a track record of improvement
  • Communicates openly and frequently with stakeholders and subject matter experts regarding the state of the project
  • Actively contributes to the company’s Agile and Lean Community through participation in the internal Agile Community of Practice and Scrum Master Forums

  • Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition

Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree (Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or relational functional field)
  • 6+ years of work as a team member or project manager on a scrum project teams
  • 3+ years acting as a ScrumMaster in software development environment working with multiple teams
  • ScrumMaster certification (CSM)
  • Hands-on Experience with Jira, Confluence
  • Deep familiarity and understanding of Agile practices, SCRUM, Test Driven Development & Kanban
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
  • High degree of initiative, purpose and enthusiasm
  • Ability to mentor and guide project team members.
  • Strong organization skills with good interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Strong experience building consumer facing solutions and building applications on the public cloud
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate and drive highly complex technology solutions to broad audiences within and outside of IT
  • Ability to work independently
