As a full time, exempt Senior Regional Vice President
with Pharmacy Systems Inc (PSI), a CPS company, you will supervise and support the operations and assist in preliminary marketing due diligence of multiple hospital and health systems in the southeast region of the US. In this role, you are responsible for all aspects of operations, including preliminary marketing due diligence, assisting in recruitment of staff, determining that all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements are being met, ensuring provision of optimal services, and working with Directors of Pharmacy and other hospital personnel to enhance financial performance. This position reports to the President, Central Region.


Qualifications:

  • BS or PharmD from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Pharmacist license in good standing
  • 8-10 years of recent hospital Pharmacist experience required
  • 5+ years of recent operations management experience overseeing multiple hospitals/healthcare system
  • Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet software, and pharmacy information systems is required.
  • Knowledge in pathophysiology, interpretation of diagnostic criteria, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Develops and implements strategies that promote cost-effective, appropriate and safe drug use.
  • Ensures that corporate policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Performs a comprehensive pharmacy assessment annually on each account
  • Performs a litmus test and follow-up plan on each visit.
  • Ensures safe, appropriate, cost effective drug therapies are used for patients in hospitals within assigned region.
  • Assists Directors of Pharmacy in preparation for accreditation surveys, such as TJC.
  • Supervises regional operations. Recruits, promotes, disciplines and terminates staff, as necessary.
  • Assist with the development of job descriptions and performance standards. Evaluates and counsels staff on their performance.
  • Determines and maintains an appropriate staffing level within assigned hospitals.
  • Assists in the provision of the educational needs of the pharmacy staff.
  • Prepares a regional pharmacy budget annually.
  • Reviews monthly financial statistics and monitors financial performance.
  • Monitors and justifies all expenses exceeding budgeted targets.
  • Ensures preparation and submission of financial reports to the Home Office occur in a timely manner.
  • Ensures compliance with hospital policies and procedures that apply to pharmacy services. Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Plans for and negotiates renewals after approval.
  • Develops and implements a strategic plan for the region that supports the mission and goals of CPS.
  • Develops and implements pharmacy services in collaboration with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Participates in all committees/functions required by the organization.
  • Establishes productive collaborative relationships with physicians, administrators, directors of nursing, and other hospital staff.
  • Maintains competency required for current job title/position by maintaining current pharmacist license. Ensures applicable CE records and licensure are maintained. Attends management meetings. Sustains professional competency and promotes development through participation in in-services, workshops, seminars, and professional organizations.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the President and Executive VP of CPS
  • Demonstrated ability to tactfully interact with professional and administrative personnel
  • Ability to work within a matrix reporting relationship at varying location. Ability to deal tactfully with the hospital administration.
  • Proficient in the use and application of new medications and technology.
  • Ability to solve problems using analytical thinking.
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal, are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and non-verbal are required.
  • High degree of professionalism and dependability.
  • Professional business attire and appearance is required.
  • Significant stress secondary to direct activity and administrative deadlines may be encountered.
  • Ability to be flexible and travel island wide with a 24-hour notice. Ability to travel up to 100% of the time.
