Job Summary:

The Senior Project Manager – Operations Data Strategy, will direct the production of business insights through technology driven data science solutions. It will utilize Enterprise Data Lake, Data warehouse, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software among other software applications to manage and drive the development of Information Technology products for Business Operations, Process Development, Supply Chain, Quality Control, Commercial, Engineering and Manufacturing departments. The role will oversee development of advanced digital and analytics capabilities that departments can leverage as a service and deployment of scalable solutions across Amgen in solving high value business problems and gain business critical insights.

Responsible for end-to-end delivery of products, process knowledge and technology solutions to enable Amgen’s accelerated Data Strategy Initiatives. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will manage high priority projects for the organization.

Responsibilities include:

• Ability to identify and execute initiatives, business process improvements, prioritize project resources, assign tasks, trends and reporting, assess project effectiveness and efficiency, conduct business analysis, and lead audit remediation activities
• To analyze current critical systems and perform cost driver data gap analysis and closure along with design, development, and launch of new capabilities.
• Gather business requirements through meetings, workshops, surveys, software, data sources. Assess current and future needs of management & key stakeholders.
• To manage development of innovative & scalable solutions utilizing Amgen’s Enterprise Data Fabric, Data lake, Cloud, ERP & other software applications.
• To create project scope and project deliverables for Transportation, Raw Material, Cost of Sales, Quality Disposition, Manufacturing Excellence, Abnormal Scrap, Transform Combined Products, Data Governance and other workstreams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, technical leads and 3rd parties to scope out project resourcing & budgetary requirements for cutting edge Business Intelligence, Big Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence solutions.
• Monitor project resources and budget during execution of various project phases.
• Effectively lead multiple projects, handles vendors, drives decision-making, cross-functional reviews, communication, governance meetings and team meetings.
• Conduct business analysis using JAD & structured walk-through. Formalize and document project requirements.
• Document benchmarks, KPIs & SLAs for project.
• Create project plan, roadmap and project charter using MS PROJECT & Office 365.
• Create and monitor project milestones, stakeholder registry, risk & issue logs.
• Standardize critical business processes in Transportation, Packaging, Distribution and freight for both commercial and clinical products with business knowledge and expertise.
• Develop and manage implementation plans that include analyses such as cost benefit and return on investment (ROI).
• Utilize business knowledge of contract manufacturing, variation, capacity and inventory management to create value and deliver insights on new capabilities.
• Prepare Project roll-out strategy and communication plan.
• Define and finalize MVP (minimum viable product).
• Direct prototype creation, dashboard design, automation, visualization tools with UI-UX teams and Data Scientists.
• Conduct Sprint planning meetings and Sprint backlog refinement.
• Employ ITIL & Project Management best practices to monitor and track project milestones & deliverables.
• Execute projects using Agile – Scrum methodology for rapid deployment.
• Perform constant monitoring of project status, risk and deliverables using JIRA, burn down charts & velocity diagrams.
• Perform UAT (User Acceptance testing) for the delivered project / modules with core end users and focused groups to gather feedback and communicate back to technical leads for further product refinement.
• Conduct daily Scrum & bi-weekly Sprint meetings. Prioritization of backlog in bi-weekly sprint meetings to complete mission critical tasks.
• Lead Project Go live & Project Hypercare for seamless Digital Transformation to new / enhanced system.
• Constantly review, consistency & integrity of system architecture to ensure it continues to meet business requirements.
• Validate that the project deliverable documents are created as per Amgen’s policies & procedures.
• Evaluate, monitor, and assess project results post implementation.
• Drive Product adoption, adherence and monitor the usage by analytics and reporting capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Computer Science / Computer Information Systems / Management Information Systems / Business Administration / Business Management experience

Master’s degree and 4 years of Computer Science / Computer Information Systems / Management Information Systems / Business Administration / Business Management experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Computer Science / Computer Information Systems / Management Information Systems / Business Administration / Business Management experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Computer Science / Computer Information Systems / Management Information Systems / Business Administration / Business Management experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Computer Science / Computer Information Systems / Management Information Systems / Business Administration / Business Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of project management and Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience
• Leader with a demonstrated ability to develop and work in a high-performing environment
• Possesses deep understanding and expertise in project and program management, portfolio management methodologies and tools.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with various stakeholders & the ability to balance divergent inputs to achieve goals.
• An aptitude for technical problem solving, critical thinking, and delivery of value-adding solutions in a team-oriented environment.
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, consistently deliver timely and quality results and thinks strategically, sees the big picture, collects, digests and assembles information to enable meaningful business analyses and facilitate decision-making
• Ability to operate in a matrixed team, works well in an ambiguous, ever changing environment
• Ability to balance a high-volume of projects simultaneously while consistently delivering quality end-product
• Strong interest in learning new things, ability to take on tasks with limited information and/or guidance
• Excellent communication and presentation as well as interpersonal skills
• Strong working knowledge of Smartsheets, MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, JIRA SharePoint and Confluence
• Proven leadership and mentorship skills
