Lockheed Martin MFC is seeking a Project Engineer to manage and guide the Agile DEVOPS scrum team from development to deployment of functional capabilities to fulfill Customers’ requirements. Serve as the servant leader for the team to ensure clear communication and removing impediments to help the team to successfully meet its goals and objectives. Continuously challenge the old norms of development to improve performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow, and velocity. Help the team focus on daily and iterative goals in the context of current Program Increment (PI) Objectives. Lead team efforts in relentless improvement. Facilitate retrospectives and meetings to include daily stand ups, sprint planning, and demos. Support the Product Owner by managing the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope. Represent the team in Scum of Scrums at the MFC-level.

Essential Duties:

  • Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
  • Guiding the team on how to get the most out of self-organization.
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
  • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on backlog refinement and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict

  • Knowledgeable in techniques to fill in gaps in the scrum

  • Ability to determine what is scrum and what is not

  • Experience with successful Agile techniques

  • Ability to work with and lead a team

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment

  • Self-motivation and ability to stay focused in the middle of distraction

  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills

  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.

  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: Kanban, Scrum, SAFe

  • Experience working with various audiences, both technical and non-technical.

=Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance.

=Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.

  • Thorough understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

  • Experience in Version One

  • Experience in Jira

  • Experience using Confluence

  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, BDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing

  • Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach

  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
