Within the Engineering Organization the Scrum Master-Project Manager is responsible for managing product development scrum teams and related software. Daily hands on management of technology activities utilizing Agile and Scrum based software development practices is required with additional responsibilities to include non-technical tasks such as user training, business process reengineering and organizational change. This role requires a wide range of leadership competencies, technical (PM) experience and communications skills. The position operates in a matrix environment, developing multi-talented, cross-functional teams and guiding them through processes that most effectively deliver business solutions.
- Leverage significant experience with Agile and SCRUM methodologies to lead project teams on a daily basis to the successful delivery of software development related projects
- Lead Scrum Teams through the identification and management of risk and support issue resolution
- Able to quickly solve complex problems in a challenging, dynamic environment with minimal direction
- Self-starter with ability to prioritize and facilitate delivery of multiple initiatives/scrum teams
- Responsible for managing team dynamics, morale and motivation while building culture where all members and points of view are respected
- Accountable for delivering ‘quality’ solutions that provide desired business benefits and/or solve business problems – ‘on-time’ & within budget
- Create and manage real-time visibility of progress for business and technical senior management, product teams and stakeholders
- Effectively communicates complex and/or difficult information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Set-up and own Atlassian tool administration: Jira, Service Desk and Confluence
A day in the life:
- Forecast sprint iterations with the Product Owners
- Coach individuals in Agile processes and tools
- Help teams to clarify goals and activities to be on-track
- Keep the teams focused – shield the team from outside distractions and interferences
- Ensure the correct use of scrum process
- Monitor and eliminate team conflicts
- Conduct daily stand-up, sprint demo and retrospective
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum developing software applications, playing the role of scrum master of more than one team effectively
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a technology/SaaS product organization or healthcare organization
- Experience using Atlassian tools as administrator for Jira, Service Desk or Ops
- Certified Scrum Master would be a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent work experience
