Purchasing Manager
Summary Description:
Purchasing Manager will negotiate with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services used by Coastal Mechanical Services.
Supervision:
Supervises Department and Purchasing Assistant
Essential Job Functions:
· Establishes Purchasing Policies and ensure compliance
· Data entry to enter Purchase order info into accounting software
· Works closely with Accounting on resolution of invoice issues
· Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate
· Examines bids and makes awards
· Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers
· Copies data and compiles records and reports
· Reviews requisitions
· Prepares purchase orders or bid requests
· Receives and contracts vendors to find out status of order
· Contacts vendors with discrepancies with quantity and quality
· Interfaces with all departments and resolves problems and issues with need purchase items
· Reviews bids and proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
Qualifications:
· Negotiating skills
· Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
· Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts
· Solid decision-making skills
· Most have good phone skills and interact well with others
· Must be well organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
· Must cooperatively support company managers and field personnel
· Construction experience is a plus
· Knowledge of purchasing policies
Minimum Requirements:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· 5+ years of purchasing related experience
· 2+ years of construction purchasing experience preferred
