Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to manage the company’s supply of products and services (indirect procurement). Working under the direction of the Director of Procurement, the Procurement Manager’s responsibilities include strategizing and executing programs aimed at sourcing products and services in cost-effective deals with suppliers. The Procurement Manager’s main objective will be to continuously reduce capital and operating expenses for products and services, while maintaining quality and continuity of supply.

This position is based in Philadelphia, PA, and reports functionally to the Director of Procurement, and organizationally to the Vice President of the Integration Management Office (IMO).


Major Activities:

  • Work closely with the Director of Procurement and Senior Management to implement & sustain sourcing initiatives to reduce indirect procurement costs
  • Devise and use new sourcing strategies
  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
  • Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
  • Examine and test existing contracts, execute renewals as required
  • Develop and manage RFP/I/Qs as required
  • Track and report key functional metrics (KPIs) to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies, such as vendor bankruptcies and contingency planning
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers, and manage their on-going performance as needed

The successful Procurement Manager will possess the following competencies:

  • University-level Bachelor degree, preferably in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
  • Talent in strategic negotiations, partnerships, and networking
  • Aptitude in decision-making, analytics, and working with numbers
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data
  • CPP and/or PMI certifications desirable
  • Able to travel in the USA and Canada up to 30% of the time
