This position offers the opportunity to lead a team consisting of field managers, locating technicians, and project coordinators who are involved in the field depiction and analysis of new and existing utility systems. A senior locating project manager is responsible for managing staff, providing leadership, and assessing project deadlines and financial expenditures for large-scale engineering projects.

Description:
- Work with team to proactively identify all project risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Prepare budgets, bids, contracts, funding requests, and communication plans
- Manage, supervise, and schedule execution of projects
- Monitor projects’ productivity, quality, and progress
- Ensure project safety and remain within projects’ cost constraints
- Support and direct project managers, project engineers, and field leads in planning, scheduling, and implementation of procedures and field operations
- Report all project updates to the clients
- Make recommendations to the clients based on professional education and experience
- Manage, develop and evaluate resources within the project team
- Lead Safety initiatives as needed by the organization
- Manage, monitor and maintain contracts related to projects
- Manage financials and metrics related to projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical discipline
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the industry or 4 years of project management
Essential skills:
- Ability to adhere to strict safety regulations
- Ability to implement and maintain policies and procedures
- Ability to learn independently from documented processes and technical documents
- Ability to anticipate and navigate challenges proactively
- Strong technical writing ability
- Comfortable utilizing web-based applications and cloud base software such as SharePoint
- Ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines
- Experience with the planning and/or design of utility infrastructure projects is desired
- Proficient in MS Office products
- Ability to analyze large data sets for trends in performance and the ability to diagnose and correct issues quickly
Valued skills and experiences:
- Professional Engineering license preferred
