Description
Director of Tennis
The Director of Tennis is accountable for maximizing Member satisfaction, exceeding the financial plan, and providing leadership for the Tennis department.
They prepare an annual budget and achieves these financial goals throughout the year through proper forecasting, cost controls and labor management.
Responsibilities
- Maintain tennis facilities in a professional manner
- Responsible for hiring and training all Employee Partners
- Member instructional/activity programming and pro shop/service operations
- Responsible for the logistics and promotion of leagues, round robins, drop-in, ladders, tournaments and seasonal events
- Responsible for the development and promote tennis clinics, private lessons, adult, junior and senior programs

Assist membership department in
recruiting of new Members
and establish communication and training of
member retention strategies
Job Requirements
- 3 years as Head Tennis Professional/ Tennis Director
- Extensive private club experience required
- Minimum of USPTA Pro 1 rating, 4.5 playing ability
- Experience with training of Tennis Employees
- High School Diploma or equivalent required – College degree preferred
- USPTA continuing education
- Comprehensive knowledge of expense control as it relates to service payroll and the forecasting/budgeting of expenses
- Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with members, employee partners and guests
