the role

The Property Group supports the agency as the experts and strategic resource dedicated to sports partnerships and rights holder marketplace. Our purpose is to provide consultation, recommendations and negotiations (as needed) regarding sports rights holders marketing initiatives for Optimum Sports’ clients. This role also oversees the Activation and Execution team members.

what this role calls for
  • Key member of the Property Group team.
  • Support Optimum Sports account teams by providing consultation, strategic direction, and recommendations.
  • Evaluate sponsorship proposals and cost out the value of both media and non-media assets.
  • Negotiate sponsorship packages on behalf of Optimum Sports’ clients.
  • Present new partnership and annual sports strategic recommendations to senior level executives.
  • Design decks and word documents that convey strategy supported with appropriate research.
  • Produce and interpret relevant research from third party data, industry trades and additional sources.
  • Be proactive in identifying new projects and business opportunities with existing clients.
  • Recognize and solve tactical problems; participate in development of strategic solutions.
  • Develop broad understanding of clients’ businesses and needs.
  • Manage multiple clients and projects.
  • Familiarity with in-stadium partnership structure, assets, and overall terminology.
  • Familiarity with digital world both related to sports specific sites as well as social channels and content strategies.
  • Be supportive in business development and growing Optimum Sports.
  • Contribute to company initiatives: business pitches and internal projects.

Qualifications and Standards

  • Undergraduate degree required.
    • preferably in Marketing, Business, Sports Management and/or Communications.
  • Graduate or professional degree, or equivalent experience, recommended.
  • 10-15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in partnership (rights holder) marketing.
  • Extensive marketplace contact network.
  • Established and successful track record of negotiating sports partnership deals.
  • Travel as needed and dictated by client needs.
