PositionSummary: The IT Director’s role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. The IT Director will plan, coordinate, direct and design IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. The IT Director will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The IT Director will also define and implement IT policies, procedures and best practices.

Essential Functions:
· Partners with management team to align company information technology with strategic direction. Recommends and plans information technology to meet company objectives based on research and evaluation

· Effectively collaborates with leadership to align resources on critical projects and seeks opportunities to assist others’ projects by reallocating resources to prioritize business needs

· Builds and develops IT organization, processes and procedures to support business needs. Evaluates and implements IT procedures and equipment for maximum efficiency and cost containment

· Maintains responsibility and authority for departmental policy setting, planning, organization and operation of the Company’s IT Services

· Structures, leads, trains and develops IT staff for maximum effectiveness and efficiency

· Ensures all users are provided professional, courteous and timely support and service

Other Functions:

· Develops and maintains IT Disaster Recovery Plan

· Stays abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance

· Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with Master’s preferred in a related discipline.

Experience:

At least ten years of IT experience, with at least five years of management experience preferred.

· Must be able to interact well with Directors and Managers in order to respond to their needs

· Must be able to communicate well, orally and in writing, and must be able to anticipate the data needs of the organization

· Strong time, project and organizational skills

· Ability to effectively delegate work appropriately, communicate expectations and empower team members to successfully complete work projects

· An analytical thinker with attention to detail

· Must be forward thinking and innovative

· Ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders

· Ability to build and maintain relationships across the business and corporate departments

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:

Demonstrated proficiency in:

  • Extensive knowledge of programming languages, database administration and hardware
  • Extensive knowledge of system architecture, design information theory and data analysis techniques
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Professional designations including Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Insurance Collections Executives (ICE) Certification(s), Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or other similar preferred
