The Associate Director, Hotels and Hospitality will be responsible for assisting the network of Mortgage Bankers in originating loans using a variety of mortgage products through building and fostering relationships with borrowers and serving as the main point of contact for borrowers going through the mortgage process. The Associate Mortgage Banker will directly assist the Mortgage Bankers as the financial intermediary between Berkadia’s borrower clients, the Company’s internal capital sources, and third-party capital sources that the Company represents while fostering reliable and effective communications to enhance the likelihood that the parties will reach agreement on financing terms.
Responsibilities
- Assist the network of Mortgage Bankers in performing borrower due diligence by analyzing financial data and pre-screening borrower qualifications
- Collect and analyze required third party reports and provide them in loan packages for underwriter reviews
- Model complex property cash flows to determine the viability of a deal
- Perform reporting related to the Company’s deal pipeline on a timely basis to ensure transaction related information is up-to-date, accurate, reliable, and available
- Actively participate in meetings with borrower clients and start to develop a foundation for relationships
- Work collaboratively with the Mortgage Banking network to procure new customers and leverage existing customers for potential deals
- Develop and maintain broad knowledge of various loan programs, including government agencies and life insurance companies
- Aid the Mortgage Bankers in preparing loan submission packages that meet the requirements of Berkadia’s internal and third-party capital sources
