Overview

Plan and direct all activities of the Motion Control Vertical in support of policies, strategic goals and objectives as established by the President of the Americas region and IMI. Ensures the Vertical meets budgeted financial goals and objectives and is ultimately accountable for the execution of the “Five-Year Strategy”. The Motion Control Vertical is comprised of approximately 800 employees across several sites in the United States, Mexico and Brazil. Not only will the position will be responsible for our IMI Motion Control business, but also for the Bimba Motion Control business as well.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and management of the Motion Control P&L to drive market share and profitable growth
  • Ensure profit, margins, and ROI are maximized through diligent management of pricing and commercial agreements
  • Develop and implement a clear business plan to target and grow the Motion Control Vertical based on a close relationship and intimate knowledge of key customers and their markets
  • Establishes short-term and long-term plans and budgets aligned with Regional, Divisional, and Corporate goals and growth objectives
  • Direct, analyze and report on the development, production, marketing, sales, and financial aspects of the Motion Control Vertical
  • Stay current with economic trends within the industry in Motion Control domain and translate into product, sales and business development strategy
  • Assist in the selection, development and review of a world-class team across all functional areas within the Motion Control Vertical.
  • Establish clear goals and objectives for direct reports and drive accountability for each
  • Champion business initiatives to ensure exceptional customer experience
  • Drive excellence, culture of lean, and world-class best practices across the organization
  • Promotes internal communication and adequate information flow within the organization
  • Drive continuous improvement with regards to quality and costs, at all levels of the Motion Control Vertical and across each functional area
  • Ensures organization’s activities and operations are carried out in compliance with IMI policies, local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing business operations
  • Travel as required (Estimated 50% of time)
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) in Business Administrative or relevant area required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience at senior management/executive leadership level is required.
  • 7+ years of multi-site P&L responsibility.
  • 5+ years of commercial experience, including sales leadership and coaching, setting and executing sales and business development strategy, is required
  • 5+ years of manufacturing operations management experience is required
  • A successful track record of recruiting, hiring, developing and retaining top talent

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, performance management, coaching, supervision, fostering teamwork, training and development of one or more employees.
