Job Description

Based in San Jose, California, Microchip FTS BU (Frequency and Time Systems Business Unit) is looking for a Sr. Project Manager for its Comericial Syncronization Product Line engineering organization. As a Sr. Project Manager/Systems Engineer, you are responsible for

  • Plan and lead engineering projects to successful conclusion
  • work with product line managers on product definitions
  • Lead and manage development engineers in project execution
  • work with Operations to release products into production.

Job Requirements

    • Duties
      • Plan projects – schedule, budget, resources
      • Lead, monitor, and manage projects to be on-time and on-budget
      • Delegate tasks to engineers, based on skills, experience, and availability
      • Anticipate and mitigate risks
      • Use creative problem-solving to solve issues
      • Ensure resource availability
      • Negotiate with product line managers on project requirements
      • Work with team to define project to leverage company skills and knowledge, exceed customer expectations, earn good returns
      • Present project status and details to management
      • Support product sustaining activities
      • Ensure that appropriate procedures are followed and be prepared for audits
      • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
      • Work and manage remote team members

Job Requirements

    • Qualifications
      • 5 years’ experience in engineering project management
      • 7 years’ experience in engineering development of telecom or/and network products, or other electronic systems.
      • Good understanding of product development life cycles
      • Familiarity with MS Project
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Good teamwork and motivational skills
      • Solid organizational skills
      • Experience working with remote teams
      • Experience with timing and synchronization is a plus
      • PMP is a plus
