SHIPPING/RECEIVING MANAGER

All Seasons Window & Door Mfg. Inc. a leading manufacturer of Residential, Light Commercial and Heavy Commercial windows and doors since 1979, with manufacturing facilities in Longview, Texas, is seeking a Shipping/Receiving manager. Under the direction of the President, will manage daily shipping operations of the company. Will ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner. Will work closely with the Plant Manager and fellow Production supervisors/lead persons to meet our business’ shipment objectives. Will ensure an orderly and safe flow of materials around the facility. Will plan and manage Inbound & Outbound shipments to meet the plant’s goals and control the traffic in the dock areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Responsible for hiring and staffing department with qualified people. Will assist the HR Manager in this process to assure the right individuals for the department are hired. Must perform Road Observation test for all candidates for Driver.
  • Responsible for training all new employees in the department.
  • Will oversee delegation of staff, staff motivation and safety oversight.
  • Will play the role of mediator in situations where conflict arises among the staff of the department. Will carry out disciplinary actions towards erring workers in the department.
  • Will oversee the smooth running of all aspects in the warehouse, making sure that all work is done effectively by working hand-in-hand with all shipping department staff and other departments of the company.
  • Will direct the flow of manufactured products from preparation to shipment.
  • Will direct the inspection of labels, barcodes and other features of completed orders.
  • Will manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, loading tickets, bills of lading etc.
  • Will assure loading and scheduling of deliveries are set up accurately and timely.
  • Will resolve issues with customers regarding shipped orders/merchandise.
  • Will ensure compliance to all DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Will work with other departments of the company, such as customer service to identify and resolve complaints from customers.
  • Will work with the Vice-President on matters applying to accounting/financial/inventory issues.
  • Will report to the President on all activities of the department and any issues that may arise.
  • Will be responsible for maintaining assigned trucks, trailers, forklifts and other company equipment; ensure all machinery, equipment, resources , and assets of the company are being used properly and up to OSHA standards.

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Must have proven experience (at least 2-3 years) as a shipping manager
  • Must have a solid knowledge of logistics procedures.
  • Must have experience in preparing shipping documents.
  • Must be computer savvy with excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Must maintain a constructive relationship with Trucking Vendors and shipping material suppliers.
  • Good understanding of budgeting and reporting.
  • Experience in hiring, directing and evaluating subordinates.
  • Excellent organizational, communication skills and interpersonal skills are highly required.
  • Able to multitask and carry out duties based on priorities. Must meet or beat deadlines.
  • Must understand the flow of work in the production areas.
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Must be available to work outside of normal work schedule.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to lift/and or move up to 100lbs.
  • High School diploma, BAS or BA in supply chain, logistics or related field is a definite plus.
  • Forklift certification required CDL not required but strongly desired.
