Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Works with Category Managers to assess and develop sourcing strategies, negotiations and vendor partnerships as it relates to our top brands and those brands that span across multiple business groups and categories.
- Ability to develop complex Sourcing Strategies to improve overall profitability for Ferguson.
- Focuses on leveraging our scale and negotiating the best enterprise-wide programs with our cross-category vendors.
- Collaborates with the Global Sourcing team to ensure all sourcing programs meet the overall requirements of the business groups goals.
- Works with Category Management to develop insights and inform go-to-market strategies for the business groups
- Increase profitability of existing products / vendors and develop new products and vendors based on their experience
- Possesses, maintains, develops and shares strong product and competitive market knowledge
- Responsible for selecting vendors that meet our customerâs needs
- Develops comparative analysis
- Assists with strategic planning and roll out plans
- Assists with promotions and marketing plans
- Evaluates profitable promotions
- Works with logistical issues as required to ship and handle product in most efficient manner
- Develops efficient ways to deal with returns and defective products
- Deals with any issue that involves a vendor
- Negotiates buying terms, conditions and incentives
- Communicates the unique capabilities and needs of Ferguson and maintain the vendor relationship
- Monitors compliance to company vendor programs
- Communicates Ferguson issues to the vendor and vice versa including: Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, Freight, IT, Finance, Product Liability and Legal Issues
Qualifications:
- CPSM certification preferred.
- Bachelorâs degree in relevant field preferred.
- Experience in developing and executing negotiation strategy.
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups.
- Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
- Demonstrable understanding of supplier selection processes
- Some travel required
