As a senior member of the leadership team, the Section Director, Regional Planning is very important to the overall success of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG).

The Section Director, Regional Planning is responsible for leading and mentoring staff by providing performance oversight and clarifying performance expectations. In addition to overseeing a section staff of 40 plus multiple outside consultants, contractors, and regional partners (as needed), the Section Director, Regional Planning will oversee a diverse and changing set of assignments within the Regional Planning Program, from conceptualization of the approach to preparation of specific products, to public review, and action by the Commission. The Section Director will also work collaboratively in a team environment with other MTC directors and staff including engaging in MTC’s long- and short-term goals and objectives.
