Job Summary
This position is the primary point of accountability to Business partners and other parties for the management and implementation of small to medium sized Projects and/or small Programs that support achievement of simple to moderately complex unit or corporate goals.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Guide and coach the teams on how to use Scrum and Agile practices and values, including recognizing and addressing anti-patterns.
- Provide support to the teams using a servant leadership style and leading by example; personify Scrum and Agile values.
- Assess the Scrum maturity of the team and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a sustainable pace. Foster continuous learning and challenge the team to improve.
- Proactively recognize and remove barriers so that the teams achieve their goals. Ensure cross-team collaboration and shield the team from diversions and distractions.
- Foster an environment of inclusion and empower team members to successfully achieve goals.
- Ensure strong communication, transparency and sharing of information from the Program level to the Development team.
- Support and educate the Product Owner, with key focus on refining and managing the product backlog.
- Will be called upon at times to perform simple to moderate analysis, assessment, resolution, design, and programming functions.
- Provide support for some end to end tests on processes and produce design program documents and as resource requirements are defined, assist in the administration of test activities during any phase.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 2 years of project management experience required.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. 5 years of project management experience preferred. Experience managing others and/or project teams preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- First level Scrum Master certification (SAFe SSM, Scrum.org PSM I, ScrumAliance CSM)
- Experience in the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency
- Experience applying a wide variety of patterns and techniques fulfilling the Scrum approach (e.g. BVIR techniques, retrospective formats, etc.)
