Summary:

The Real Estate Manager locates and acquires properties on which Maverik will develop convenience stores which meet internal rate of return (IRR) requirements while meeting growth targets established in Maverik’s strategic plan. Managers must have excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate with land owners and community representatives and maintain healthy relationships with the same after sales negotiations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Locates and obtains high performing store sites
  • Determines the market value of the desired property
  • Property Negotiations
  • Meets layout requirements for store property
  • Completes permitting requirements (when required)
  • Collects and analyzes statistical and forecasting data
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications: Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required


Qualifications: Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in real estate sales, valuation, permitting or development preferred
  • Experience in standardizing business processes with an eye toward streamlining and improving business performance


Qualifications: Competencies

  • Demonstrated understanding of municipal land use management
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic retail sales forecasting approaches
  • Ability to utilize tools and sources available to collect and analyze critical data
  • Ability to effectively respond to and interact with multiple levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) required
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities within a corporate environment
  • Exercise individual judgment while dealing with difficult situations
  • Exceptional communication skills in verbal and written form, including persuasive, grammatically accurate and effective communications and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively and influence others in a diverse and dynamic work environment
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Background in ArcMap and/or other GIS mapping tools is preferred
  • A satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record is required for this role
