Ranch Manager, 3 years (Required)
The Rain Tank Cattle Company, a wholly-owned economic enterprise of the Havasupai Tribe, is hiring a full-time, salaried, General Manager to manage the operations of the ranch on a United States Forest Service leased allotment located on the Kaibab National Forest.
Principal Responsibilities
· Manage the day-to-day operations of the Rain Tank Cattle Company in a profitable manner including, but not limited to, financial records and reporting;
· Implement the Grazing Plan developed and adopted by the Board of Directors;
· Supervise Permanent and Temporary employees and laborers;
· Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable federal regulations for permit holders and lessees on federal allotments;
· Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable state regulations for cattle operations;
· Maintain and develop all necessary infrastructure, including water tanks, fencing, and other infrastructure;
· Meet regularly with the Board of Directors and the Havasupai Tribal Council, and the Forest Service, as needed;
· Perform and supervise all other tasks necessary to operate a commercial cattle ranch in the arid Southwest.
Skills and Abilities
Necessary: Applicant must have 3-5 years’ experience managing a ranching operation in an arid environment and supervising employees.
Preferred: Experience with compliance with Forest Service Allotment regulations and working with a tribal government.
Salary
Range $60,000 – $70,000 DOE
