New England Lab is seeking a Project Manager for Morrisville, NC office. As a member of our team you are responsible for coordinating all project aspects including: cost, production, schedule and installation. Our Project Managers need to be focused, organized, and excel at bringing a high level of customer service to each job. The project manager is absolutely vital in producing a quality product that includes on time installation and maintains or improving profit in order to uphold our vision of quality, value and service. This is a full-time, salary position with standard business hours 8am to 5pm, M-F, and reporting to the Director of Southern Regional Operations.

Role
Responsible for coordinating, organizing and communicating all aspects of a project including: submittals, schedule, contracts, cost, production, changes, installation and closeout. Maintain proactive customer relations throughout the project. Oversee that customer intent and clear project scope are attained by Estimating and are communicated clearly to Engineering. Maintain vendor’s schedule and scope. Maintain cost control and contract status. Coordinate with purchasing to ensure customers’ scope and schedule are met. Assist as needed with estimating. Assist in servicing house accounts and with sales presentations, scope review and specification review as needed.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • A project manager is responsible for producing a quality product on time installation and maintain or improving profit: ensuring quality, value and service.
  • Manage select company projects
  • Clarify scope of work with the customer at the beginning of each project
  • Oversee project turnover meetings
  • Oversee engineering and purchasing to ensure drawings, material and schedules are correct
  • Check and confirm shop drawings, order acknowledgments and product data submittals.
  • Coordinate manpower schedule for projects
  • Proactive communication with field operations for schedule of installers or sub installation
  • Prioritize manufacturing schedule with primary vendors
  • Manage profitability by coordinating with purchasing department for buyout options
  • Provide feedback to PM team to ensure proper job costing and reporting
  • Work with accounting and estimating to ensure estimating values are correct
  • Communicate with project team members to maintain current contract status for all projects
  • Review purchase and delivery schedule in order to complete projects on time
  • Maintain job completion system for 0 punch list items to eliminate return trips
  • Track job notes and correspondence
  • Provide proper close out and feedback to all departments involved
  • Assist with estimating as needed to support sales/estimating teams
  • Provide sketches, drawings or modifications to drawings as needed

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years construction background
  • 1-3 years installation experience a plus
  • College degree (Engineering, Construction technology or related field a plus)
  • Able to effectively manage information, schedules and people
  • Well organized and able to appropriately prioritize tasks
  • Professional and clear communicator through face to face, phone, and electronic communication
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Customer focused
  • Highly detailed and focused.
  • Strong math and computer skills
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel as needed for review or site inspection
  • Safe, clean driving record (Employment contingent on clean Background Check).

This position requires some travel, up to 50% of the time within the Carolinas Area and requires use of both your own vehicle and company vehicles. The position also requires ability to bend and take measurements, lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. At times, prolonged stationary desk work is required using substantial motions of the wrist and hand.
