EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Computer literacy desired. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Past vehicle parts management experience desirable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak in English effectively before individuals, groups of customers, or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Takes parts that are in warranty and puts them in warranty trailer and keeps records of
parts. Manages parts for warranty department, locates and ships parts (under warranty) to
manufacturer
Checks the used truck parts (cores) that can be rebuilt and resold; and checks parts for any
missing components, cracks, rust, etc.

Assists shipping and receiving and dispatcher pull parts for drivers. Stocks parts and ships
new parts to other dealers.
Ships warranty returns to proper vendor per reports generated by Warranty Department.
Ships warranty core to specified vendor as required. Determines method of shipment,
affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on
cartons. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
In a customer friendly manner, responds to and services front counter walk in floor traffic,
when customers are not being promptly serviced. Answers phones, takes messages, routes
calls as necessary to resolve incoming phone-contact requests or questions
Using the computer systems, researches pricing and availability of parts. Makes information
known to customers and enhances purchase opportunity by cross selling and provides
positive customer relations
Makes change, rings up sales and generally, has knowledge of cashiering responsibilities
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises one or more employees in the Parts Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
