Responsibilities
Serve as the project lead for development of Government Furnished equipment (GFE) hardware for the Orion program, providing the primary point of contact for development and certification in coordination with stakeholders (Orion program, prime contractors, operations, crew, etc.). The GFE projects are post-PDR, with emphasis on design, test and analysis, planning and execution, certification/verification, integration, and sustaining engineering.
Key Functions
- Provide direct customer interface to the Orion program for GFE status regarding budget, schedule, and performance.
- Manage a budget that includes engineering support contractors and NASA facility resources.
- Manage project schedules and priorities.
- Monitor technical content of assigned projects with respect to quality, requirements, and schedule.
- Coordinate with technical experts and environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS) management to ensure product performance with proper risk mitigation and cost/schedule control.
- Coordinate across JSC engineering experts such as EE parts, EMI, stress, and safety as appropriate.
- Integrate tasks with other programs as needed.
- Provide senior level project management mentoring to team.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience with spacecraft ECLSS functions
- Ability to coordinate across multiple organizations
- Ability to develop and clearly communicate complex information
Preferred
- Familiarity with the Orion program, and experience presenting technical, cost, and schedule information to NASA personnel
- Familiarity with JSC engineering and GFE processes
