ANTHEM™ is a TAA-licensed umbrella organization, for multiple real estate and creative companies based here in Waco, TX. Our headquarters and studios are located in the very core of downtown, and exist and operate to see our city restored and rejuvenated, whether it be one brick or building at a time, or one tenant or local visitor at a time. Much of this activity requires daily tasks and administrative work that happens behind the scenes and without a lot of public excitement, but all put together, mixed with our team’s own particular skill sets allows for the greater fulfillment of our broader corporate mission – development by design. Peter & Summer Ellis, Baylor alumni and the directors of ANTHEM have lead out in the design and business development industry professionally since 1999 for approximately 40 years collectively. Description –
The Operations Manager will work in conjunction with the Executive Director & other Anthem Management to carry out the mission and vision of Anthem at large. The Operations Manager is responsible for developing a high-performing team of personnel and is accountable for overseeing the plan, control, and daily operations for all aspects of Anthem. This individual must be a responsible and independent worker, demonstrate availability and flexibility, have a working knowledge of business leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and a willingness to participate in all the various aspects of Anthem’s business operations. This position also requires a passion for operational excellence, a drive for results, and the ability to quickly and efficiently lead through unforeseen complexity. The Operations Manager must maintain a healthy value system, including moral and ethical behavior that is consistent with the company’s mission and core values.
Reporting Relationship-
This job reports to Executive Director, other MGMT team members

Essential Duties and Responsibilities-
Description: Operations Management
- Ensure all systems operate in alignment with Anthem’s mission, values and standards
- Collaborate with Anthem Management team and provide strategic advice to clarify, plan and monitor the key priorities, business outcomes and initiatives of the organization. Includes:
- Assisting the leadership team in developing long term strategic planning priorities and initiatives
- Developing clear, succinct and completing content for executive-level analytical presentation/communication
- Maximize efficiency of all business procedures by identifying opportunities for process improvement, developing recommendations, and converting recommendations into compelling business plans. Includes:
- Reporting and tracking performance metrics on a regular basis, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving actions to address where needed.
- Developing strategies that leverage company programs, tools, and resources to improve and grow the business.
- Synthesizing complex issues into a clear story and/or assessing operational opportunities.
- Lead a broad range of programs and projects on behalf of his/her team in order to drive overall operational excellence
- Monitor daily operations and address potential issues when they arise. Includes:
- Managing complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Balancing long term projects with the urgency of immediate demands
Leadership & Team management
- Recruit & Hire:
- Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of invested and caring professionals
- Coordinate with the HR department to ensure our hiring plans meet our business needs
- Create an environment that inspires and encourages the growth and engagement of Anthem team.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence amongst the leadership team by sharing best practices, establishing priorities, and providing support.
- Develop & Coach: develop training plans that build skills and expertise and coach team members by providing timely and specific feedback to create a culture of action and accountability
- Accountability:
- Define and drive structure to weekly meetings and interactions.
- Operationalize decision ensuring follow-up on unresolved discussions and actions.
- Be knowledgeable of, and ensure compliance with Anthem policies, procedures, and standards.
Financial Oversight
- Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring all standards and operating procedures are met, including workplace safety, inventory control, and loss prevention.
- Monitor financial data and recommend solutions that will improve profitability
- Review and interpret financial data and allocate budgets accordingly
- Operate departments and assigned personnel within budgetary guidelines.
- Complete financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date financial records

Experience:
- 10+ years of previous experience as a Business Operations Manager or in a similar role required & preferred
- Working knowledge and experience with forecasting models, databases, and project management software
- Understanding of financial and accounting principals, including understanding of business ROI
- Working knowledge of marketing and sales activities, as well as customer service principles
- Working knowledge of relevant local, state and federal legislation and regulations
- Experience managing a variety of departments and cross-functional teams
Education:
- Undergraduate degree required, Graduate level, or highly focused degree preferred
