Overview

Leads and oversees the coordination and implementation of clinical research studies. Performs independent statistical analysis on clinical research studies.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs independent statistical analysis of clinical research studies.

  • Leads the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical research studies.

  • Prepares and negotiates budgets with sponsors. Provides oversight of study charges to fund accounts.

  • Trains, mentors and supervises daily activities of staff and students.

  • Develops systems for assuring protocol adherence and data quality.

  • Acts as an internal and external Clinical Research Professional leader to Lurie Children’s, advising staff regarding complex protocols and projects.

  • Leads activities designed to improve organizational performance.

  • Promotes clinical research activities within the hospital and the community.

  • Develops protocol of investigator-initiated projects.

  • Assists Principal Investigator (PI) with grant preparation and reporting. Prepares manuscripts for publication.

  • Coordinates presentations and facilitates at internal/external clinical research education conferences and events.

  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience required.
  • Current Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (SOCRA) or Clinical Research Coordinator (ACRP) required.
  • Prior leadership experience required.
  • Must be assigned to a status of 0.5 FTE or higher.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to address diverse/large audiences.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of regulatory practices required.
  • Strong customer service skills.
