Head of School

Providence School seeks a Head of School to provide academic and spiritual vision alongside expertise in leadership and management as the school continues to grow and thrive as a significant educational institution in Santa Barbara and surrounding communities. The appointment begins July 1, 2020.Providence is a PSGrade 12 Christian, co-educational, college-preparatory day school with the mission to provide students an environment and program in which they can flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. Providence was born out of mergers between Providence Hall, Santa Barbara Christian School, and El Montecito School at San Roque. The school draws on 61 years of history of serving our community by providing students an academically excellent education in an environment that fosters the development of faith, values, and character.At the core of Providence School is a talented faculty and staff, mature in Christian faith, who are excellent in their disciplines, skilled in the art of teaching, passionate about the students they teach, and committed to the schools mission.

The Board of Directors is comprised of local businesspeople and professionals, parents, and community members. The board members enjoy each other, their roles, and the work in which they are partnered.Responsibilities of the Head of School include implementing the schools mission and vision, inspiring and overseeing the academic program and faculty, developing relationships with community and giving partners, providing financial oversight, creating and ensuring effective internal and external communication, and strategic planning. In carrying out these duties, the Head of School will lead in such a way that all programs are developed, executed, and evaluated with a focus on continual improvement that reaches for the highest standards of excellence. When done well, the result will be a school experience that expresses Christs love, attracts students and employees, and fosters a positive reputation in the community.As the sole employee of the Board of Directors, the Head of School reports directly to the Board.
