Bechtel Corporation is seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis manager to support our Financial Planning and Analysis group.

Bechtel’s FP&A group plays a crucial role in our corporate governance. We do this through the development of enterprise-wide financial plans and forecasts, measuring our variance to those plans, and analyzing the various components of those forecasts. Our primary objective is informing our executive management team (C-Suite) of the appropriate aspects of our business such that they can make informed decisions.

To achieve this objective, we utilize both quantitative and qualitative analysis of all operational aspects of our company to evaluate the company’s progress toward achieving its financial goals and to recommend appropriate strategies to achieve them. We consistently evaluate economic and business trends, review past performance, and anticipate potential obstacles, as we evaluate our company’s forecasted financial results.

Role Overview:

  • Leads the corporate long-range planning and budgeting processes; requiring translation and integration of strategies, trends, and assumptions into financial results
  • Must be comfortable structuring planning processes, helping others navigate uncertainty, modeling key assumptions, and recommending courses of action consistent with Corporate strategy and goals
  • Leads the corporate level forecast and performance reporting processes, including variance analysis. Will partner with other work-groups to implement KPIs and dashboards; will be required to lead a small team of functional analysts to provide day-to-day reporting and analytic insights to key stakeholders
  • Responsible for corporate/board level reporting, including executive financial summaries, status on key initiatives, and productivity measures
  • Leverage indirect leadership capabilities as you interface and coordinate with Global Business Units and other finance organizations produce high-quality, integrated reports.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the CFO’s office
  • Requires executive level communication and partnering


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or equivalent quantitative field of study
  • MBA or related advanced degree, strongly preferred
  • Fifteen years of related professional experience
  • Five years of experience in Finance, three of which were focused on corporate financial planning or data analytics
  • Experience in the engineering and construction industry a strong positive.

Additional Qualifications:

  • CPA, CFP, or CFA preferred
  • Requires strong self-initiative, leadership, communication, interpersonal, strategic, planning and organizational skills
  • Proven track record of working with distributed teams to integrate business information and strategies across business unit
  • Requires strong Excel, Microsoft Office-suite, and presentation skills
  • Experience in financial modeling, data architecture design and data mining. Experience working with Oracle’s Hyperion suite or their EBS platform, including developing data schema’s
  • Advanced capabilities in BI visualization platforms
  • Project management and system implementation experience
  • Must be self-sufficient and have the ability to think strategically, look forward and plan tactically and logically
  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times


Quantitative Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in statistical analysis including business metric trend analysis
  • Must have the ability to lead the development of algorithms and other quantitative models that will significantly improve the strategic intent of the organization leading to improved business objectives
  • Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables


Communication Skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with executive leadership, management, staff and outside resources and agencies
  • Must have clear and direct verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Must demonstrate professionalism in every aspect of communication and presentation
