Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for Director Programs 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Responsibilities include providing direction and leadership to the Product Support IPT to design, development, and integration of highly effective, affordable, and low risk utility systems. This position will execute processes and procedures of the IPT and track and control the technical, cost, and schedule objectives of the IPT. This position requires strong interpersonal skills in order to lead, collaborate and work effectively with all levels of internal and external executive leadership.

As Director 1, the successful candidate will regularly analyze actions and alternative courses of action. Decisions made will have significant risk and reward implications for the IPT. The leader will be an evaluator of IPT leadership talent to include managers, technical leads and individual contributors. Responsible for meeting established schedules and resolving technical or operational problems. This position develops, administers, and advises budgets and standards of performance, and influences and impacts strategy through their role. This leader will be responsible for development of strategic objectives and long-range vision of the organization. This position requires integration and coordination with the Functional Homeroom, and acts as the liaison for information and communication.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, STEM, or other logistics related fields, from an accredited institution with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in logistics and/or military leadership experience with emphasis
  • Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 5 years
  • Must have the ability to obtain and retain a DOD Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Access
  • Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of IPT/Program Management processes (CAM processes, project planning and scheduling, cost control, change control, EVMS, staffing, coordination and oversight of technical work effort and risk and opportunity management)
  • Must have a broad knowledge of and demonstrated experience of program lifecycles, end-to-end
  • Involvement with the development, negotiation, and implementation of Statements of Work (SOW), Basis of Estimates (BOE) and Change Management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience and a proven record of leading Logistics teams in developing Logistics Engineering, Support Equipment, Logistics planning and integration, Supply Support, Technical Data and Training Systems that meet quality, performance, cost, and schedule requirements
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in requirements management inclusive of development, derivation, validation and verification of requirements
  • Experience working on both classified and unclassified Military programs
  • Understanding the development and coaching for leadership and performance
  • Experience leading a large department in a matrix environment
  • Practice with earned value management (EVMS) and internal tools (i.e. Integrated Management Operating Model (IMOM))
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, STEM, or other logistics related field
