This position serves in a key management role within the Division of Enrollment Management at the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School (PGBS), with specific oversight of the Office of Admission and its administrative operations. In leading this important function, the incumbent will supervise a core staff team dedicated to the management of 3,000+ applications that PGBS receives on an annual basis from candidates seeking admission to its expansive portfolio of degree programs. Working in concert with other units both within and across PGBS divisions and departments (Enrollment Analytics, Marketing, Student Systems, Program Offices, etc.), as well as an external online program management partner (2U), the Director will focus on developing, refining, and managing the systems needed to optimize the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of the application and admission processes.


Duties

  • Lead the Admission department and its core function of driving and supporting the application and admission processes for students seeking entry to PGBS degree programs. Plan, coordinate, and monitor administrative and operational processes toward the fulfillment of departmental goals with regard to efficiency, accuracy, communication, and quality of service provided to PGBS program candidates.
  • Direct the online program admission process in collaboration with external program management partner (2U) and regularly interface with 2U counterpart on all matters pertaining to the application and admission process. Serve as initial reviewer of program applications and liaise with relevant program committees to ensure the timely rendering of final admission decisions.
  • Drive departmental integration of new customer relations management (CRM) software, as part of a University-wide upgrade. Closely engage staff and provide guidance on redesigning departmental workflow and vamping business processes in accordance with the needs and capabilities of the new CRM.
  • Perform all essential duties pertaining to staff supervision (hiring, training, developing, evaluating, etc.) and promote a culture of collaboration, active communication, service-orientation, and mutually supportive intra- and extra-departmental relationships.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of professional experience with progressive administrative/management responsibility within higher education setting. Staff management, training, and supervision; strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively convey complex information/instructions both verbally and in writing; firm commitment to promoting and maintaining a customer-centric environment; strong analytical and critical reasoning skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools, Google-suite products (Docs, Sheets, etc.), familiarity with document imaging systems. Ability to learn and incorporate emerging technology tools into business processes.

Preferred: Master’s degree and 7 or more years of progressive administrative/management responsibility in a college/university admission setting. Ability to manage multiple simultaneously competing priorities and to successfully navigate a highly complex and fast-paced organizational environment. Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Salesforce CRM, and E-trieve document management system.
